Botox® and Dysport®

Botox® and Dysport® can be used for cosmetic issues as well as other conditions:
Cosmetic
The “11” wrinkles between your eyebrows
The smile lines, wrinkles at the corners of your eyes that extend into your eyelids
Forehead wrinkles
Downward turn at the corners of your mouth
Neck bands

Cosmetically, Botox® and Dysport® are used to treat lines and wrinkles which are created by muscle movement. In the face, these muscle movement induced lines and wrinkles do not improve with facelift surgery. Botox® and Dysport® are used to selectively weaken the muscles that cause these wrinkles. The duration of wrinkle improvement ranges from three to six months depending on individual differences.

Botox® and Dysport® can also be used for non-cosmetic uses. These include headaches and excess sweating. When used for headaches the response can vary. Some patients report a dramatic improvement while others report no improvement. This varies from wrinkle treatment where almost everyone has a significant improvement.
